Getting outside for sunrise photographs is often challenging. Making the effort means giving up reading time. This was a good morning to look around. The approaching sunrise, however, wasn’t working out as planned. Driving past the San Gabriel River, in the Rowe Valley area, the water’s surface was graced with dawn’s warm light, surrounding trees embracing the scene. Quiet, calming, serene. Maybe a sunrise setting will come later, but this was okay.

A Bartlett Night
Bartlett, Texas, about twenty minutes north of Taylor, is a community adorned with character. The town is around 2000 population, give or take a little. It rests in both Williamson and Bell Counties. It’s been photographed before, hopefully will be again. These are from this evening.

Remnants
Even with its blades a distant memory, a windmill’s essential stature is a study in elegance.
Rest Stop
Taking time for replenishment on the San Gabriel River, a view near Circleville.

Tree Sunset
Sunset tonight, with trees. A followup to tonight’s other post.
Just Trees
A “Follow the Light” column is occasionally done for the Williamson County Sun. Topics vary, but are generally quiet things. Another one of these publishes in Wednesday’s edition. This time it’s just about trees. The print edition includes a full page, plus a little over 200 words. The column copy isn’t included here. Just trees, friends.

A Quiet Drive
From a quiet Sunday drive through Falls County, Texas. Assisted by sun and clouds, the winding road was shimmering. It helped to have a windmill present, too. A simple and peaceful outing.
Saturday Night Stuff
Three photographs from tonight. A couple walks across the dam spanning the San Gabriel River at San Gabriel Park, the Williamson County Courthouse on the Georgetown square continues to shine. And a Waning Gibbous moon over the San Gabriel River, as seen tonight in Taylor.

Walks
Photographs taken this week during daily walks in Taylor. Since these seem to be a regular thing now, additional words are moot. We see what we see. That dog, however, really wanted to break through that fence. It’s nice he didn’t.
