The cameras traveled to Georgetown this morning for a Blessing of the Animals service conducted by Grace Episcopal Church. This morning’s service was at Booty’s Road Park, a few miles west of the town square. While it was mostly a canine event, one cat showed up, plus a wonderful Bearded Dragon called Zuzu. Two photographs are of Zuzu, in order to let you see her head-on, with that nice smile! Alas, the cat remained in her carrier, understandable. You never know when a feline might skedaddle. The services pay homage to Saint Francis of Assisi, but most of you probably know that. It’s been an incredibly-busy few days and nights. More to do tonight.

From Daily Walks This Week
A dozen photographs from walks this week. Squirrels are everywhere. Less miles since COVID, but still fulfilling.

Pumpkins Arrive in Taylor!
Taylor’s First United Methodist Church unloaded and toted over 3,000 pumpkins this morning for their 20th Annual Pumpkin Patch. Pumpkins large and small filled the grounds. The pumpkins are grown in New Mexico by members of the Navajo tribe. The sale continues until Halloween. Just west of us, Georgetown’s First United Methodist Church expects to see their pumpkins arriving by Wednesday afternoon. Pumpkins are colorful fun!

A Great Tree … and a Sunset
Skies were looking nice tonight, prompting a last-minute visit to a friend’s ranch to photograph a mesquite tree I like a lot. A Waxing Gibbous moon, at 87.5% visibility, is included. And a ranch sunset.

“In the Heights” at the Georgetown Palace
“In the Heights” opens tonight at the Georgetown Palace. Just a cursory post here. Other photos are on Facebook and Instagram (@andybobsharp). This lively production runs through November 2nd.

Night Cyclist
It’s one of the few roads in my area where traffic is minimal, with some nice rolling hills. Driving on it a few evenings back, I noticed a pair of bicyclists who obviously knew it was good path, too. After passing them, I pulled off to the side, letting each know I was taking a photograph. They were in their element, not worried about the camera’s presence. This was near day’s end. My sense is they were close to home, but cresting that hill had to be inspiring.
Each cyclist was equipped with lights, helmets and reflective vests. There’s some lovely places to enjoy the outdoors here.
Deer
The photos for this post reside comfortably on Facebook and Instagram, but here’s one from Berry Springs Park and Preserve taken this week.
Horses
This was taken about six weeks ago, but at first I wasn’t enamored with it. It’s growing on me though. It’s hard to go wrong with horses.
Train Yard Light
Several years ago I posted a similar view of the train yard in downtown Taylor. The scene is sometimes enhanced by an approaching sunset. Since the last offering from there the setting has become more populated with signs of growth, but it’s still a view worth documenting. This one’s from a few evenings ago.
Sunset Over Granger Lake
The skies over Granger Lake were enriching near sunset on Saturday. Just a few quick snaps.
