Summer is officially here

For those of us in central Texas, we didn’t need a calendar date to tell us that summer has begun, but I wanted to represent it with a photo and found 6-year-old Isaiah Lopez of Round Rock as he enjoyed a very warm afternoon this week at Blue Hole, a lagoon and park on the South Fork of the San Gabriel River in Georgetown.    The severe drought affecting the area has taken a toll on the water supply at Blue Hole, but there’s still enough to cool off on a hot day.   And we’ve already had a number of days beyond 100 degrees around here.   Stay cool, folks.
