About Andy
Howdy folks. For years I’ve been a newspaper photographer and photo editor in Texas, Louisiana and Georgia. These days, you’ll find me in a cozy little central Texas town not far from Austin. From time to time I wander back east to Georgia, but Texas cries out for good stories to tell and images to create. Let’s enjoy the ride.
I like it! Love the masthead foto. That is what those are called on blogs, aren’t they? Or is masthead a word of the past?
Welcome to the 21st Century. The only constant is change.
Yolanda.

Hey, I still say masthead. It works in my world. Time marches on.

Hey Andy
This is Robby Long, I don’t know if you remember me, My sister Lindsay ran with Austin at Harrison. I see you no longer live in the Atlanta area, I too am a photographer, I have my own business as well as shoot for In The Game Magazine Cobb Edition high school sports mag, as well as photog for Hillgrove High Schools Varsity Boys and Girls Lacrosse Teams, and Oglethorpe University Lacrosse team. Your pics are great, and they should be, you’ve been at this for years…Hope everyone is doing well, and maybe I will run into you if your ever in my neck of the woods again..

Hi Robby,
Good to hear from you. I remember you well, the young fellow who always zoomed past us old folks on the battlefield trails. Glad to hear you’re enjoying photography, am sure you’re finding out just how expensive the profession can be. It still amazes me what the camera companies charge for their gear. We’re in central Texas, about 32 miles northeast of Austin, but I wander back to Georgia as much as I can since my son (Austin) and his wife still live there.
Best of luck with your photography. Sounds like you’re having fun.

Great pics Andy. This is what I would expect from “The Master”. Hope to be living out there on the golf course in the future.

Lots of good areas here, buddy! 108 degrees today, but we like our air conditioning a lot.

Thank you Mr.Sharp for your coverage of Gen. Meloy and my reunion.

Dear Sgt. Brooks, thank you for getting in touch! Your reunion with General Meloy was the highlight of my day. I was hoping you’d touch base so I could email you a couple of the photos I took. Check your in-box for them very soon. I’d send them right now, but they’re on a different computer. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Andy
