Coupland Caboose & Depot

Coupland Caboose & Depot

COUPLAND, TEXAS: This is an old caboose in downtown Coupland that rests next to Coupland’s restored depot. The depot, which dates to the late 1880’s, was closed in 1952. The building was sold to a local farmer for $40. For 20 years it was first a tenant house, then a hay barn until 1974. The Coupland Community Club took the old building on as a Bicentennial project in 1976. Funds were finally raised to redo the building in August 2009 and it is now available for public tours.
